Mount Cerberus is a striking and 1600 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Olympus Range, it rises with numerous secondary peaks between Lake Vida and Mount Orestes .
Scientists from a 1958 to 1959 campaign of New Zealand's Victoria University's Antarctic Expeditions named it after the three-headed dog Cerberus from Greek mythology.
