The Malle Bay ( English ; Spanish Bahía Malle ; in Argentina Bahía Bandera , Spanish for flag bay ) is a small bay on the east coast of the Adelaide Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located 60 km south of Cape Mascart and west of the southwest coast of Day Island .
Chilean scientists named it after Miguel Malle Gómez, a member of a 1974 hydrographic surveying unit of the Chilean Navy operating in this area . The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2016. The background of the Argentine naming is not deposited.
