Malo Srediste

Malo Središte ( Cyrillic : Мало Средиште , Romanian Srediştea , Hungarian Kisszerend , German Klein-Sredischte ) is a place belonging to the municipality Vršac in the administrative district Južni Banat in the southeast of the province Vojvodina in Serbia . It is located directly on the northern slope of the Vršačke Planine ridge .

Malo Središte has about 120 inhabitants, of which about 90 percent are Romanians , five percent Serbs and five percent Hungarians . This is in addition to Serbian and Romanian and Hungarian spoken.

Culture and sights

There is a very popular church in the village. At the foot of Gudurički vrh (highest point of Vojvodina) there is a chapel with an attached monastery, which is still managed today. Tour buses come to the village regularly to visit the monastery.

There are also numerous spring water points between the village and the summit of Guduricki Vrh.

Economy and Infrastructure

Malo Središte is now supplied with water pipes and telephone connections. The village has a Romanian school (up to 4th grade). For secondary education, the young people have to attend school in Vršac , 15 kilometers away . The local supply is guaranteed; there is a village shop that supplies the population with basic groceries and everyday items.

The village streets consist mainly of asphalt. The road from Vršac to Malo Središte is also paved.
