Poschiavino
The Poschiavino is an approximately 30 km long right tributary of the Adda , most of which lies in Switzerland and around 3 km in Italy . Its 238 km² catchment area essentially coincides with the Grisons valley area of Poschiavo . The main tributaries are the Val da Camp creek , the Cavagliasch and the Saent .
The Poschiavino rises at around 2300 m above sea level. M. from several small sources on the Forcola di Livigno , near the Italian border. The uppermost section of the valley, called Val Laguné , ends with the La Rösa plain, which is around 1870 m high. For the next 5 km, the Poschiavino flows through a narrow, wooded valley before reaching the 10 km long Poschiavo valley floor, which slopes gently from 1100 m to 960 m . There the Cavagliasch flows into a rocky gorge from the right. After the Poschiavino has flowed through the Lago di Poschiavo , there is a section with a relatively even gradient over Brusio , Campascio - where the Saent joins - and Campocologno to the Piattamala bottleneck on the border. At Tirano , the only Italian town on the river, the Poschiavino flows into the Adda at an altitude of 409 m.
The water of Poschiavino is in several power plants of Rätia energy used to generate electricity.
