The Mamilossa (sometimes used prefix CCGH represents Canadian Coast Guard Hovercraft ) is a hovercraft of the Canadian Coast Guard with deployment based on Trois-Rivieres , Quebec . The boat is also used to keep the St. Lawrence River fairway clear of ice fields.

history

The Mamilossa is the newest boat in the Canadian Coast Guard's fleet of hovercraft. It is the first newly acquired boat of its kind to meet the special requirements of the coast guard. The name of the boat means "it goes from the coast to the sea" in the Abenaki language .

commitment

The main task of the boat is SAR operations on the Quebec coast . It can also be used for towing activities.
