Mamma Kandeh

Mamma Kandeh (born July 12, 1965 ) is a politician in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Kandeh, son of Groit N'gaari Kandeh grew up in Sami district. Kandeh attended primary school from 1972 and later secondary school. From 1985 he was at the Gambia Ports Authority hired as a clerk, in 1990 he visited on the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) a course in Accounting ( English R.SA course in Accounting ). In 1994 he was at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences.

In the parliamentary elections in 2002 , Kandeh stood as a candidate for the Alliance for Patriotic Reorientation and Construction (APRC) in the Jimara constituency and was able to win the constituency for himself due to the lack of opposing candidates. In the 2007 elections Kandeh was able to defend his constituency against his rival candidate Adama Barrow of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

From 2004 he is also a member of the Pan-African Parliament . He will also be a member of this Parliament in the following legislative period from 2009 and is on the Committee on Trade, Customs and Immigration. Kandeh ran for the 2016 presidential election in Gambia and received 17.8% of the vote in third place.
