Mammillaria Halbingeri is a species of the genus Mammillaria in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet honors Christian Halbinger (1884–1976) from Mexico City .

description

Mammillaria Halbingeri forms individual groups. The spherical to short cylindrical, light green colored shoots are up to 10 centimeters high and 8 centimeters in diameter. The warts are conical to egg-shaped and have no milky sap . The axillae are covered with wool. The 1 to 2  central spines are slightly curved, needle-like, glassy white to yellowish white with a brown tip and are up to 0.9 centimeters long. The 21 to 28 radial spines are thin, needle-like, glassy white and 0.5 to 0.8 inches long.

The funnel-shaped flowers are sulfur yellow with light pink edges. They reach a diameter of up to 1.2 centimeters. The fruits are small and whitish in color. They contain brown seeds .

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Mammillaria Halbingeri is common in the Mexican state of Oaxaca . It was first described in 1933 by Friedrich Bödeker .

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is called " Data Deficient (DD) ", i. H. with insufficient data.
