Manager Magazin (Poland)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The monthly Polish-language magazine Manager Magazin - Edycja Polska ( spelling : manager magazin EDYCJA POLSKA ) was a licensed edition of the German magazine Manager Magazin . It was published from 2004 to 2008 and was one of the two most important business magazines in the country during this time.

history

The title was first published in December 2004 by a joint venture company consisting of the Hamburger Manager Magazin Verlagsgesellschaft mbH ( Spiegel Group ) and the Warsaw publishing company Infor SA . The publishing company was initially registered under the name Wydawnictwo Infor Manager Sp. Z oo . After the German partner took over all of the company's shares in 2007, the publisher traded as Manager Media Sp.z oo

The magazine was aimed at senior management in the Polish economy. It was published in a print run of 50,000 copies, cost 9.80 zloty and after the introductory phase sold around 30,000 copies at sales outlets and by subscription. The title was attached to the Polish ZKDP edition control. The founding editor-in-chief was the Polish business journalist Jan Bazyl Lipsczyc. Dorota Goliszewska took over his position in 1996. Deputy editors-in-chief were Dorota Kornacka and Piotr Lemberg. The publisher's managing director was initially Philipp Busch, later Nikolaus von Nathusius.

In addition to the main title, the publisher also issued special editions on various topics in the economic environment. Events were organized under the Manager Eventy brand . In addition to gala invitations for the presentation of Manager Magazin Awards, seminars and workshops were offered here. In October 2008 a high-profile conference was organized in Warsaw with the Nobel Prize winner Joseph E. Stiglitz .

After a change in the management of the Spiegel Group in 2008 and an accompanying change in the foreign strategy, as well as against the background of massively declining advertising revenues in the beginning economic crisis , the parent company decided to discontinue the title at the end of 2008 and to liquidate the publisher.
