Manawoka ( Indonesian Pulau Manawoka ) is one of the Indonesian Gorom Islands that belong to the Moluccas .

geography

Manawoka is located in the southwest of the archipelago. To the east is the island of Gorom , to the northwest the neighboring island of Panjang . Further to the northwest are Seram and a few small islands in front of it and the Watubela Islands to the south .

On Manawoka there are Arbau in the north, Amar , Derra and finally Nama in the south.

As part of the sub-district ( Kecamatan ) Pulau Gorom , Manawoka belongs to the administrative district ( Kabupaten ) Ostseram (Seram Bagian Timur) of the Maluku province .

population

The Austronesian language Geser-Gorom is traditionally spoken in Manawoka , which is also spoken on the southeastern tip of Seram and the small islands between Seram and the Gorom Islands.
