The Mancilla Point (English; Spanish Punta Mancilla ) is a headland of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located south of González Island on the east bank of Discovery Bay .
Scientists of the 1st Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947) named the headland after Julio Mancilla Gallardo, who was involved in hydrographic surveys on this research trip. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this designation into English in 2005.
