Mandelshagen is a district of the municipality Blankenhagen in the district of Rostock in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania (Germany).

geography

Mandelshagen is located about 18 km northeast of Rostock and 13 kilometers southwest of Ribnitz-Damgarten between the forest areas of the Rostocker Heide and Billenhägener Heide - both of which are partly landscape protection areas . Over half of the district consists of forest areas.

history

Mandelshagen was first mentioned in a document on May 13, 1334. Mandelshagen, as "Manegoldeshagen", Billhagen and Cordshagen were named after their locator . On July 1, 1950, the previously independent municipality of Cordshagen was incorporated. On January 1, 2012, Mandelshagen was incorporated into Blankenhagen.
