Mandeni (also Mandini ) is a small town in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal . It is located in the municipality of the same name in the iLembe district . In 2011 the city had 3,904 inhabitants.

There are many factories in Mandeni. The largest company is Sappi , the largest paper manufacturer in South Africa.

The Tugela flows directly through Mandeni and flows into the Indian Ocean about 10 kilometers from the city center . The city is located 22 kilometers from KwaDukuza and 96 kilometers from Durban . Mandeni is connected to the national road network of South Africa through the connection to the N2 . The R102 offers Mandeni good transport links in the south to KwaDukuza and in the north to KwaGingindlovu .
