Mandeville is a small settlement in the Gore District of the Southland regionon the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located around 15 km northwest of Gore in the Waimea Plains . In addition to various streams that pass the settlement, the Mataura River grazes the settlement on its east side. The New Zealand State Highway 94 , which connects the settlement with Gore , runs through Mandeville .
Airfield
In the settlement there is Mandeville Aerodrome ( ICAO : NZVL) with a 980 m long and 60 m wide grass runway. The Croydon Aviation Heritage Trust , which has set itself the task of restoring historic aircraft, has its headquarters at the airport .
