Particularities: |
Bathing island |
The Mandlachsee near the hamlet of Mandlach south of the Handzell district of the Markt Pöttmes is a pond in the district of Aichach-Friedberg ( Swabia , Bavaria ) dammed up by the Obermühlen brook . The approximately 280 × 60 meter large lake was created during the land consolidation in the Aichach-Friedberg district.
Recreational offer
The small local recreation area offers a parking lot, water watch, children's and ball playground, blue plastic bathing island, changing rooms, showers, toilets, lawns, sandy beach, kiosk, an inn and a district campground . The Kreisjugendring is responsible for the youth campground of the district at Mandlachsee. The approximately 6.5 hectare leisure area can be reached via State Road 2035 ( Augsburg - Neuburg ). The Mandlachsee is cold, because the Obermühle ( Sandrach ) stream constantly brings new water into the lake, which hardly has time to warm up.
Environmental action
On March 25, 2015, a transparent curtain could be seen at the entrance to the lake, in which unknown artists presented the rubbish collected around the lake in order to encourage passers-by with the striking demand: "Lost property - May everyone take what is their own." to draw attention to the unusual treasure trove. This included u. a .: a shoe, a used diaper, cigarette butts, bottles, aluminum foil, packaging material from the fishing supplies, plastic parts and much more. On the opposite bank, the active environmental artists put the trash can there in scene by putting on a T-shirt with the inscription: "Give it to me. Thank you, your trash can". Next to it was a banner with a lettering on it, which bore a quote from the French philosopher Luc de Clapiers, Marquis de Vauvenargues : "The contempt for our nature is an error of our reason."
