Manfred Beckmann

Manfred Beckmann (born June 4, 1957 in Waldkirch ) is a German fencer and trainer .

Life

Beckmann began fencing in 1971. In September 1980 he passed his exam as a certified trainer at the trainer academy in Cologne . He then worked until 1983 as a trainer in the national performance center and Olympic base at the Tauberbischofsheim fencing club . In 1983 he moved to Laupheim as a trainer . Since 1989 he has been training the fencing company in Basel , which brought out the 2004 Olympic sword champion Marcel Fischer .

  • 1975 German junior champion in epee fencing
  • 1977 junior vice world champion in epee fencing
  • 1978 silver medal at the military world championships with the team in foil fencing and bronze medal at the military world championships with the team in epee fencing
  • 1979 Vice World Champion with the team in Melbourne
  • 1980 member of the German Olympic team, which was not allowed to go to Moscow due to the Olympic boycott
  • 1994 team world champion (for Switzerland) the fencing master in the sword in Graz.
