Manfred Billmann

Manfred Billmann (* 1963 ) is a German jazz singer and pianist.

From 1984 to 1988 Billmann trained as a singing teacher for jazz and pop music at the Cologne University of Music . After that he was a member of the vocal group Headline for two years . a. Appearances on ARD, ZDF and WDR and recorded an album.

Then he led the group Blue Champagne Jazz and was a member of the big band Take Off , and the jazz ensembles Take Nat (with Manfred Portugall and Stefan Werni ) and Take Nat plus one (with Portgall, Werni and Herwig Barthes ). As a sideman he worked a. a. with Peter Herbolzheimer , Engelbert Wrobel , Wolfgang Haffner , Joanne Bell , Cynthia Utterbach and Inga Lühning .

Billmann has been teaching jazz singing at the Cologne University of Music since 1988, and harmony since 2000. He has also been teaching at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz Music Academy since 2003 (with interruptions in 2005 and 2006), and since 2006 also combo, and taught courses at the Arnsberg International Art Summer .
