Inga Lühning (* 1974 in Kirchwalsede ) is a German jazz - singer .

After studying singing in the Netherlands and the USA, Lühning has lived in Cologne since 1998, where she first became a member of the a cappella group Vocaleros . With this she toured regularly and appeared at jazz festivals, but in 2001 the Vocaleros broke up.

At the same time she founded the jazz-pop quartet Lühning with Christian Thomé , Mario Mammone and Helmuth Fass , with whom she recorded the CD of the same name, released in 2001.

This was followed by a collaboration with Matthias Vogt , who together with the Frankfurt label Infracom brought the idea of [re: jazz] to life, from which the band of the same name later formed, whose singer is Lühning.

In the meantime she also works regularly with the Cologne pianist Andreas Schnermann , who released a vocal album for the first time in 2006. Schnermann set twelve poems by WH Auden to music. The resulting songs can be heard on the record Oh tell me the Truth about Love by Inga Lühning, another album is planned.

Together with the Sebastian Gahler Trio , Inga Lühning formed the IndigoJazzlounge formation , which released a CD of the same name in 2008 and for which Sebastian Gahler is writing the arrangements.

In addition, she toured with the help of the Goethe Institute in China (with Christoph Eidens), in Ethiopia (with Felix Petry) and in Japan (with re: jazz), sang backing vocals with the Fantastischen Vier and Marla Glen and was a singer Guest at the Cologne Contemporary Jazz Orchestra and various other productions.
