Mario Mammone

Mario Mammone (born August 16, 1959 in Calabria , Italy ) is a German jazz guitarist of Italian origin.

Mario Mammone grew up in Saarlouis in the Saarland and studied electrical engineering at the University of Siegen from 1977 and music at the Hogeschool voor de kunsten in Arnhem with Tony Scott , Jasper van't Hof and Mike Stern from 1987 . He has been active as a jazz musician since 1985, a. a. with the Trio lirico (with Johannes Lemke and Jan Flubacher ), the Quartet Lühning (with Inga Lühning , Helmuth Fass and Christian Thomé ), the TrioReale (with Michael Nüchtern and Peter Kara ) and their own sextet jip (with Sebastian Räther , Yonga Sun , David Zernack , Torsten Lehmen and René Klement ). He also works in a guitar trio with Werner Hucks and Peter Autschbach as well as with Ron Williams , Jan Vering and Willie Thomas .

Name meaning

Mammone is the Italian word for “mother's boy”.
