Stefan Werni (* 1967 in Herten ) is a German double bass player and composer of electroacoustic music .

Live and act

Werni began a classical music education in 1989 at the Cologne University of Music . Since then he has been working with musicians and groups from the fields of jazz , new music and electronic music . In 1987 he toured Israel with Eckard Koltermann and performed with groups such as Collage 12 (with Eckard Koltermann, Reiner Winterschladen , Stefan Bauer and Simon Nabatov ), The Last Chamber Ensemble (with Christoph Hillmann and Andreas Wahl ) and Trio Infernal - Die gute Band (with Christian Jendreiko and Hans Kanty) at concerts and tours as well as radio recordings at home and abroad.

Since 1988 he has been a member of the trio Take Nat (with Manfred Billmann and Manfred Portugall ) and Take Nat plus one (with Billmann, Portugall and Herwig Barthes ). As a jazz musician, he also played with Sheila Jordan , Charlie Mariano , Lee Konitz , Bill Elgart , Tony Scott and also gave concerts at the Leipzig Jazz Days , the Jazz Festival Viersen , in the Olympiapark Atlanta / USA and in the Townhall Akkon / Israel.

He can also be seen in television productions and was involved in theater music at the Moers Castle Theater and the Bochum Theater .

Since 2002 Stefan Werni has been working as an instrumentalist and composer in the project Werni & Jendreiko (with Christian Jendreiko and Ralf Skubowius), increasingly with electroacoustic room music, sound design and 64-channel live processing.
