Manfred Grund (born January 21, 1936 in Zehdenick ; † December 18, 2003 ) was a German functionary of the GDR block party LDPD . He was Vice President of the National Council of the National Front of the GDR .

Life

Grund, son of a working-class family, attended high school and passed the Abitur . In 1952 he joined the FDJ . Between 1954 and 1956 he learned the trade of bricklayer and then studied from 1956 to 1957 at the TH Dresden . During his apprenticeship training and studies he was the leader of an FDJ group. From 1957 to 1961 he worked as a site manager and site manager at VEB Bauhof Berlin-Treptow . From 1961 to 1973 he was head of the master craftsman division as well as deputy chairman and from 1973 chairman of PGH Bau in Berlin-Mahlsdorf. From 1963 to 1967 he attended the master school, which he graduated as a master craftsman. From 1973 to 1979 Grund was a member of the board of the Berlin-Lichtenberg Chamber of Crafts .

In 1973 Grund joined the LDPD and from 1974 to 1979 was a member of the LDPD district committee in Berlin-Lichtenberg. From 1979 to 1984 he was the deputy chairman of the LDPD district association Berlin-Marzahn . From 1984 he was a member of the LDPD district board in Berlin and from 1982 to 1990 a member of the LDPD central board.

From 1979 to 1990 Grund was Vice President of the National Council of the National Front of the GDR and from 1976 to 1990 a member of the People's Chamber .
