Manfred Hardt

Manfred Hardt (born September 22, 1936 in Siegen ; † July 3, 2001 ) was a German Romance studies , Italian and literary scholar.

life and work

Hardt received his doctorate in 1964 under Hugo Friedrich in Freiburg on the subject of the image in poetry . He completed his habilitation there in 1972 with The Number in the Divina Commedia . From 1979 he was full professor for Romance philology at the University of Duisburg . Hardt died as a result of a traffic accident.
