Manfred Hassebrauck

Manfred Hassebrauck (born April 9, 1953 in Obersuhl ) is a German social psychologist .

Life

Manfred Hassebrauck studied psychology at the Technical University of Berlin . The doctorate on “Emotional Consequences of Distributive Injustice. Experimental investigation on equity theory ” took place in 1984 at the Technical University of Darmstadt . After working at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony (KFN) , he worked at the University of Mannheim , where he completed his habilitation in 1993 .

From 1997 to 2000 he was professor for social psychology at the Gerhard-Mercator University of Duisburg (now: University of Duisburg-Essen ). Since 2000 he has been Professor of Social Psychology at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal .

Hassebrauck is an expert on the topics of love, choice of partner and relationships. His main areas of research include aspects of social attraction, such as the emergence of sympathy, beauty and close relationships.

He works as a consultant, sometimes with his own column, at various commercial online dating agencies.

He is married and has a daughter.
