Manfred Heindler

Manfred Heindler (born June 19, 1943 in Graz ; † May 13, 2006 in Graz) was an Austrian expert on nuclear energy .

Live and act

Heindler studied technical physics at TU Graz . He then worked at the CERN nuclear research center in Geneva and on particle accelerators in Cadarache and Canada . From October 1990 to December 1999 Heindler was managing director of the energy agency - at that time the energy utilization agency (EVA).

The main focuses of his management were the consolidation of the membership, contemporary public relations, the expansion of professional expertise and the opening of the EVA towards the EU and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.

Heindler last worked at the Institute for Theoretical Physics - Computational Physics at Graz University of Technology.

In addition, Heindler continued to appear as an internationally recognized critical expert on issues relating to the use of atomic energy and nuclear fusion . Through his numerous research coordinations and work, Heindler was a sought-after advisor to various governments, the European Commission, the International Atomic Energy Agency and many others.

Heindler was a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences , the American Nuclear Society and the American Physical Society .

Manfred Heindler died on May 13, 2006 of complications from leukemia .
