Manfred Misselhorn (1964)

Manfred Misselhorn (born July 29, 1938 in Fallersleben ) is a former German rower .

In 1962, Misselhorn and Helmut Schulz took third place at the German Championships in the RC Holzminden double scull . In 1963 Misselhorn started with Albrecht Müller in the double sculls of the Germania Düsseldorf rowing club in 1904 and achieved second place at the German championships behind Josef Steffes-Mies and Jost Krause-Wichmann .

In 1964 Misselhorn and Müller formed a four without a helmsman together with Horst Effertz and Günter Schroers . This crew won the German championship and won the 1964 European Championships in Amsterdam before the Danes and the Italians. The German foursome was also the favorite for the Olympic Regatta in Tokyo . There the Danes won, the German crew reached the finals, but couldn't cope with the wind conditions and took sixth place.

Misselhorn was already a trained civil engineer at the time of his participation in the Olympics.
