Manfred Paul (Evangelist)

Manfred Paul (born May 14, 1938 in Herborn ; † May 4, 2020 in Höxter ) was a German evangelist , pastor , longtime director of two mission organizations and author.

Live and act

Manfred Paul completed an apprenticeship as a publishing clerk before he was managing director of the Canadian-German mission agency Janz Team eV (today: TeachBeyond ) based in Kandern between 1966 and 1978 . After that he was the spiritual director of the Werner Heukelbach Mission in Bergneustadt until his retirement in 2002 , worked on evangelism and Christian radio broadcasts and was active as the author of many writings, books and devotional books.

He wrote Christian lyrics such as “Don't say no, God calls you too”, “Risen from the night of the grave” or “Bittende Herzen (streams of blessings)” (with Hildor Janz ) and translated songs such as “ O Holy Night ” (as “ Holy Night, the Savior is born ”) and Les Anges dans nos campagnes under the title“ Peace, Joy ”. In 2009 he was appointed Honorary Commissioner of the Christian Police Association for his spiritual and pastoral work among Christian police officers , where he also worked as a speaker at staff seminars. In retirement he started a missionary “tele-meditation” and designed a monthly spiritual encouragement letter with the title “Cheer up”.

He first came into contact with the Janz team as a volunteer pastoral worker at a major evangelization in Dillenburg, where he also met his wife Monika, who worked there as a secretary. He had three sons with her and last lived in Lauenförde .
