Manfred Reese

Manfred Reese (born August 9, 1931 in Gliesmarode ; † March 6, 2017 in Braunschweig ) was a German politician ( SPD ). From 1974 to 1978 he was a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Reese attended elementary and middle school in Braunschweig , which he finished in 1949 with the secondary school leaving certificate. He completed an administrative apprenticeship with the Braunschweig city administration and was employed as a civil servant until 1957. He was a member of the ÖTV since 1950, a member of the SPD since 1955. After that, he worked as legal secretary at the German Trade Union Confederation until 1960 . From 1960 he was initially the specialist secretary for salaried employees and civil servants law in the Braunschweig district administration of the ÖTV trade union. Then he was their second managing director. From 1968 he was a member of the board of the Braunschweig community accident insurance association.

In 1968 Reese moved into the city council of Braunschweig, of which he was a member until 1972 and again from 1981 to 1991. In the state elections in 1974 he was elected as a direct candidate for the constituency of Braunschweig III in the Lower Saxony state parliament. He was a member of the eighth electoral term from June 21, 1974 to June 20, 1978.

Manfred Reese was married and had two sons.
