Manfred Theisen

Manfred Theisen (* 1962 in Cologne ) is a German author .

Life

Theisen studied German , English and politics and spent two years doing research for the German Ministry of the Interior in the Soviet Union . He founded a development aid association in Ethiopia . Theisen worked as an editor and headed a newspaper office in Cologne before he became a writer . Manfred Theisen has received grants (including research for his novel Checkpoint Jerusalem in the Palestinian Territories ) and prizes for his work.

Theisen has four children and lives in Cologne. Since 2006, in addition to his readings, he has also been working with children and young people in writing workshops using the method of "media writing" he developed.
