Manfred Wieninger
Manfred Wieninger (born July 9, 1963 in St. Pölten ) is an Austrian writer .
Career
Wieninger studied German and pedagogy in Vienna . He draws material for his crime novels from previous experience as a medical student, chimney maker, tour guide and local and sports journalist . The title hero is a former police officer by the name of Marek Miert.
Wieninger wrote a lexicon of St. Pölten street names as well as two volumes with poetry and essays for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , the Wiener Zeitung , the literature and criticism and the intermediate world .
In 2013 he received the Theodor Kramer Prize for his works .
His last work so far is the novel Aasplatz - A Presumption of Innocence , a novel in which the criminal district inspector of the Ministry of the Interior, Hans Landauer , examines the massacres of Hungarian Jews that took place in 1945 in the course of the construction of the southeast wall in Jennersdorf in southern Burgenland .
