Manfred von Knobelsdorff

Manfred von Knobelsdorff (born June 15, 1892 in Spandau ; † 1965 ) was a German professional officer, most recently SS-Obersturmbannführer and the first "Burghauptmann von Wewelsburg ".

Life

Manfred von Knobelsdorff comes from the von Knobelsdorff family . As a career officer he took part in World War I , received the Iron Cross 1st class and was dismissed as captain in 1919 . He worked as a representative of a perfume factory until 1934, during which time he married Ilse Darré, a sister of the Nazi ideologist Richard Walther Darré . He was a member of the NSDAP ( membership number 718.932). From February 12, 1934 to January 24, 1938, he was a full-time SS leader (most recently in the rank of Obersturmbannführer) "Burghauptmann von Wewelsburg ", the SS Ordensburg . In 1938 Knobelsdorff switched to the administration of the Reichsnährstand and thus to the organization of his brother-in-law Darré. During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht . After the war, Knobelsdorff was again active as a representative.
