Maniac Chase is a 1904 comedy film directed by Edwin S. Porter . The film is a direct remake of Wallace McCutcheon's films The Escaped Lunatic . Both films were made in 1904 by the Edison Manufacturing Company .
Movie content
The film shows how a man with a Napoleon complex breaks out of a madhouse and is persecuted. The film eventually ends with him going back to the madhouse and reading a newspaper.
Background information
The film consists of a total of 10 scenes and is a little shorter than the first film The Escaped Lunatic , but almost nothing has been changed in the plot of the film.
