The Mann Mobilia GmbH was a German furniture store chain in July 2005 by the Austrian store chain XXXLutz was acquired. Your name is continued today as the "brand" of XXXLutz KG .
history
The first inner-city location, initially called Möbel Mann , was created in Karlsruhe in 1950 with around 500 m² of retail space. Due to its great success, it was expanded to 3,600 m² after just two years. Further inner-city branches followed in Mannheim and Wiesbaden in 1956 and in Pforzheim in 1960 .
After further furniture stores in southwest Germany were integrated into the chain, the new company headquarters including high-bay warehouse was built in Karlsruhe in 1961, directly on the clover leaf of the A5 / Durlacher Allee .
In 1970 the first furniture store with a self-service department was inaugurated at the location in Karlsruhe- Durlach . In the 1980s and 1990s, furniture stores near Mannheim, Wiesbaden, Ludwigsburg , Freiburg im Breisgau , Dreieich and Eschborn followed the same principle , none of which were in the city center, but located near the motorway.
After the sale of Mann Mobilia GmbH in July 2005 to the Austrian furniture retailer XXXLutz , the previous head office of Mann Mobilia GmbH in Karlsruhe was dissolved.
On February 1, 2016, around 100 employees at the Mannheim location were released from work without prior notice and prevented from entering their workplaces by a security company commissioned by the management. The company justified this action with planned layoffs due to the relocation of the order processing department to the Würzburg location; you need the order processing rooms "at short notice". In the following days there were protests by the released workforce.
