Brief moments in different people's lives are shown. Then you see a woman in a flower dress picking up the mail from the mailbox and then cycling through a town. She's on her way to a rendezvous. She and a car collide at an intersection; she lies on the asphalt. People rush to the scene of the accident to help her. A voice belonging to the unfortunate woman named Manon tells from the off. Her thoughts wander from the fear that one might see her slip to the untidy apartment and to her relatives. Manon wonders how her relatives, shown at the beginning, would deal with her death. She begins to remember her life, the good things and the not so good, and wonders how it might have turned out. Finally we see how Manon's relatives find out about the accident.
