Manuel Marani (born June 7, 1984 in the city of San Marino ) is a San Marino soccer player who is best known for his appearances in the San Marino national team . Besides Andy Selva, he is the only player who has scored more than one goal for San Marino.
Career
In the club
Marani began his career in 2003 with the San Marino record champions SP Tre Fiori and then played for other clubs, including Italy .
National team
On February 7, 2007, Manuel Marani scored his first international goal against Ireland in qualifying for the 2008 European Championship . After Ireland took the 49th-minute lead through Kevin Kilbane , Marani captured the ball after a misunderstanding between goalkeeper Wayne Henderson and Richard Dunne in the 86th minute , but tripped and failed to hit his knee and rolled into the goal, it was the compensation for the interim 1: 1. The sensation was narrowly missed, however, as Ireland managed to win the game 2-1 with a goal from Stephen Ireland late in stoppage time. On August 14, 2012, he scored his second international goal in a friendly against Malta, leading to a 1-0 lead, while San Marino lost the game 3-2. He is the only player besides Andy Selva to score more than one goal for San Marino.
