Manuel Sá Pessoa

Manuel Sá Pessoa (* 1980 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese actor .

Life

Manuel Sá Pessoa was born the son of an employee of the Portuguese airline TAP Portugal . He trained as an actor at the Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute in New York , where Mauricio Bustamante, Chat Burton and Lola Cohen were his teachers. He also attended various workshops in the areas of dance and improvisation .

With the children's play As Viagens de Tomé he made his debut as a theater actor at the Teatro Há-de-ver in 2000. In 2010 he was a guest at the Teatro Nacional D. Maria II in Lisbon in Rei Édipo by Sophocles . He also had theater engagements at the Auditório Camões, the Centro Cultural Vila-Flor, the Teatro de Carnide (2009), the “Artistas Unidos” and the “Grupo Cassefaz” (Cassefaz Produções). At the theater he worked a. a. with Ricardo Gageiro , Eduardo Alves, Ana Tamen and Martim Pedroso .

Manuel Sá Pessoa has taken on continuous roles in numerous Portuguese television series. In the TV series Mistura Fina (2004-2005) he played as Luís Gustavo Côrte-Real, a young, playful character who is constantly involved in adventures. In the film Fin de Curso (2005) by the Spanish director Miguel Martí (* 1971) he played the role of the student Raúl. In the ZDF series Kreuzfahrt ins Glück (2017), he played the Portuguese admirer and guitarist Leandro at the side of Laura Preiss , Paula Schramm and Jonas Laux .

Manuel Sá Pessoa also worked regularly as an advertising actor, a. a. for the Portuguese beer brand Sagres on the side of the Brazilian top model Daniela Cicarelli and as a model . At the age of nine, he stood in front of a camera for the first time for commercials.

Manuel Sá Pessoa has been a keen surfer since he was 19 . For a few years he was in a relationship with Sandra Barata Belo , the protagonist of the Portuguese soap opera Perfeito Coração ; the couple separated in 2010. Manuel Sá Pessoa lives in Lisbon.
