Manvendra Singh Gohil (born September 23, 1965 in Ajmer , Rajasthan ) is an Indian prince and LGBT and AIDS activist.

Life

Manvendra was born the prince of the Hindu royal family of Rajpipla . His father is Shri Raghubir Singhji Rajendrasinghji Sahib, who took over the title of Maharaja of Rajpipla in 1963.

Manvendra was taught at Scottish High School and then at Amrutben Jivanlal College of Commerce and Economics in Mumbai . In January 1991, Manvendra entered into a marriage arranged by his parents , but it was never consummated. After his divorce, Manvendra had his public coming out .

Manvendra was a guest in several television talk shows, including the Oprah Winfrey show in the United States and the Mission Undercover Princes of the British broadcaster BBC Three , a reality TV live telecast, different in the three members of royal houses under an assumed name in the UK to find a partner.

Manvendra is chairman of the Lakshya Trust , which supports AIDS projects in India, and is on the board of the AIDS organization Asia Pacific Coalition on Male Sexual Health (APCOM). He is a founding member of the Sexual Health Action Network . The Lakshya Trust Foundation won the Civil Society Award in 2006 .
