history

Singer Anne-Katrin Hoffmann (* 1989 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia ) was active in the rap girls' band C-Flow from Struth from 2003 to 2008 , while keyboardist René Schlothauer (* 1978 in Mühlhausen / Thuringia) could be heard in cover bands. Hoffmann occasionally sang live in Schlothauer's band Popsofa . In July 2010, the two musicians set to music a first text by Hoffmann's father Ralf Hoffmann, who has since worked as a lyricist for the group, entitled Himmel aus Eis . In February 2011 the first appearance as Maras April took place . The band name was inspired by Hoffmann's godson Mara and the changeable month of April. The group was named representative of Thuringia at the Bundesvision Song Contest 2012 via a demo CD . With the title Heaven of Ice , the group reached ninth place. The group released their self-titled debut album on Sony Music that day .

The duo is supported by Christian Svenson from Kassel ( drums ), Lars Zacharias from Göttingen ( bass ) and Michael Murauer from Eschwege ( guitar ) when performing live . Schlothauer lives in Mühlhausen / Thuringia and Hoffmann in Göttingen.
