Marc-André Bédard (politician)
Marc-André Bédard (born August 15, 1935 in Sainte-Croix , † November 25, 2020 in Chicoutimi ) was a politician from the Canadian province of Québec .

Marc-André Bédard was a lawyer by profession . He worked in the administration of the University of Québec and before his death for the Museum of Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean . His son Stéphane Bédard is also a politician.
Political career
Bédard was elected to the National Assembly of the Province of Québec ( French Assemblée nationale du Québec ) in 1973, 1976 and 1981 as a member of the Parti Québécois , the party for the secession of Québec .
He became Minister of Justice in 1976 as a member of the Cabinet (French Conseil des ministres du Québec ) under Prime Minister René Lévesque and, after his resignation until December 1985, under his successor Pierre-Marc Johnson Minister of State for electoral reform. In 1985 he did not stand for re-election.
Bédard died after falling ill of COVID-19 .
