Marc Ancel

Marc Ancel (born July 14, 1902 in Izeste (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), † September 4, 1990 in Paris ) was a French lawyer .

After receiving his doctorate in 1927 he worked as a judge after 1929. In the 1950s and 1960s he was conseiller at the French Court of Cassation and Vice-President of the Société de législation comparée . In 1970 he became a member of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques . He was also a member of the board of directors of the European Association of Jurists ( Association des juristes européens , AJE), of which he became president in the 1970s. In 1982 he was accepted as a foreign member of the then Academy of Sciences of the USSR .
