Welf Treasure (List)
This list contains the individual pieces of the so-called Welfenschatz , once a reliquary treasure of the Brunswick Cathedral . It includes, on the one hand, the 82 objects listed in the catalogs from 1891 and 1930, and on the other, also those that were later identified as part of the Welf Treasure.
Catalogs from 1891 and 1930
The numbering from 1891 was taken from the first catalog of the collection Der Reliquienschatz des Haus Braunschweig-Lüneburg by Wilhelm Anton Neumann, which was compiled according to scientific standards . The numbering from 1930 comes from the catalog of the exhibition Der Welfenschatz , which was shown in the same year in the Berlin Palace Museum and in the Städel Art Institute in Frankfurt .
