Marc Frings

Marc Frings (born December 9, 1981 in Neuwied ) has been Secretary General of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) since January 1, 2020 .

Frings completed community service in Syria and the Palestinian Territories ; He also worked in Bethlehem in a Christian meeting center and in a school. He studied political science , public and civil law as well as peace and conflict research at the University of Marburg and at the Institut d'études politiques in Lille . The course was funded by the Cusanuswerk . He then worked as a TV producer and editorial assistant for the ARD capital studio . After a time as a trainee and project assistant in the Indonesia and East Timor office (2010 to 2012) in Jakarta and Berlin , he was responsible for the topics of energy and climate for the Konrad Adenauer Foundation . Since 2015 he has headed the foundation's office in Ramallah . On January 1, 2020, he succeeded Stefan Vesper as General Secretary of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK).

Marc Frings is married and has two daughters.
