Marc Silvestri (born March 3, 1958 in Palm Beach , Florida ) is an American comic book artist and publisher. His career began at Marvel Comics , where he became famous as an illustrator on the Uncanny X-Men series from 1987 to 1990. He then drew the X-Men sub-title Wolverine for two years .

In 1992, Silvestri left Marvel with six other cartoonists - Jim Lee , Whilce Portacio , Rob Liefeld , Erik Larsen , Todd McFarlane and Jim Valentino - and founded Image Comics . Silvestri's studio Top Cow Comics is one of the image founding studios , and besides Todd McFarlane's McFarlane Productions the only one that is still with Image. Silvestri created the titles Cyberforce , Weapon Zero , Witchblade and The Darkness for Top Cow . Later he concentrated on publishing activities and only did a little drawing. In 1997 he left Image with Top Cow for a short time, but returned soon afterwards.

In 2004 Silvestri drew again for Marvel for the first time and created a five-part X-Men story with author Grant Morrison .
