Marc Venten (born July 27, 1978 in Mönchengladbach ) is a German lawyer and local CDU politician . He has been the full-time mayor of the city of Korschenbroich since 2015 .

Life

Venten grew up in Korschenbroich. There he attended the St. Andreas elementary school . He then switched to the municipal secondary school in Kleinenbroich and, after secondary school, to the Episcopal Marienschule Mönchengladbach . There he graduated from high school in 1998 . After doing community service at the Green Space Office in his hometown, he began studying law at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf in 1999 , which he successfully completed with the first state examination in 2004 . In 2005 he started his legal clerkship in the service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia at the regional court in Düsseldorf . In 2007 he successfully passed his second state examination in law at the State Justice Examination Office in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Venten worked for the law firm Hasler & Kinold in Mönchengladbach from 2007 to 2013. Since the beginning of 2013 he worked as a lawyer in the law firm Segbert & Sariyar GbR in Korschenbroich. Here, among other things, he dealt with the NSU trial , to which he traveled to Munich every week, as the law firm represented many of the co-prosecutors.

He lives with his wife and three children in the Trietenbroich housing estate in a half-timbered house from 1722.

Marc Venten has been the mayor of Korschenbroich since October 21, 2015. In the course of this, he resigned from his work at the firm. As chairman of the CDU Korschenbroich parliamentary group, he received 62.73% of the votes cast in the runoff election on September 27, 2015 in the auditorium of the Korschenbroichs grammar school. 37.27 percent voted for his opponent Albert Richter ( SPD ).
