Marc Wilmore

Marc Edward Wilmore (born May 4, 1963 in San Bernardino County , California , † January 30, 2021 in Pomona , California) was an American screenwriter , television producer , actor and comedian who appeared in shows such as In Living Color , The PJs or The Simpsons was operating. He was nominated ten times for the Primetime Emmy Award .

Life

Marc Edward Wilmore was born on May 4, 1963 to parents Betty and Larry in San Bernardino County, California. He had five siblings and was a graduate of California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.

In the early 1990s, Wilmore got a job writing the sketch comedy series In Living Color . He was promoted to actor on the show's final season. For his work on the show, he received a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award. After In Living Color , Wilmore wrote for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno  and The PJs , an adult stop-motion sitcom co -created by his older brother Larry .

He took part in a prank organized by Simpsons staff. Pretending to be the Mayor of East St. Louis , Illinois , he furiously approached writer Matt Selman about a joke that subsequently insulted the city.

Wilmore got a job on the television series The Simpsons , where he worked as a writer. At the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards 2008 , he won a Primetime Emmy Award for his animation program as a producer for the episode Vergiss-Marge-nicht ( Eternal Moonshine of the Simpson Mind ) . In the 2010s, Wilmore worked as the writer and executive producer of F is for Family , an animated sitcom co-created by Michael Price . Wilmore also provided several voices on the series.

Wilmore died on January 30, 2021 at the age of 57. According to his brother Larry, Wilmore died with COVID-19 .
