action
The series is set in the United States in the 1970s. It's about the Murphy family. Head of the family Frank works for the fictional airline Mohican Airways . His wife Sue is a housewife, but also sells Plast-a-Ware (alluding to Tupperware ). The family has three children. The eldest, Kevin, is in the middle of puberty, is rebellious and constantly arguing with Frank. His younger brother Billy, on the other hand, is shy. The youngest, however, Maureen, is a tough daredevil and prefers to hang out with the dilapidated and antisocial neighborhood children.
The series illuminates the life of the individual family members as well as the entire family life.
season 1
The first season is mainly about a strike by baggage workers at Mohican Airways . As a union member, Frank is supposed to mediate between the workers and the management. However, since he stands between the chairs, on the one hand his colleagues, on the other hand his superiors, who keep promising him promotions, Frank is under immense pressure. He often takes this out on the family, which in turn leads to new arguments. At the end of the first season the strike will end. It just doesn't end well for Frank. He'll be released at Christmas.
Sue is the classic housewife of the 70s. She runs the household and raises the children. However, she gets bored and starts selling Plast-a-Ware . However, her supervisor, who procures her the orders, turns out to be an exploiter. Sue has to drive all over the county to deliver goods and record complaints from annoying customers.
Cast and dubbing
German-language dubbing is done by RRP Media in Berlin. The dialogue books of the first season were written by Lorenz Bethmann, Rainer Raschewski directed the dialogue for the season . Ralf Pel has been writing the dialogue books and directing the dialogue since the second season.

reception
F Is for Family enjoys an above-average popularity with critics. Rotten Tomatoes rated the series with an approval rate of about 86%. Matthew Gilbert from the Boston Globe said, referring to the tone of the comedy: "It can be terribly cute, but in the end it is surprisingly poignant." Seriejunkies.de editor Bjarne Bock attests the series a coarse style of language and taboo humor. The historical references relating to the 1970s were particularly successful.
