Marcel Peltier (artist, 1945)

Marcel Peltier (born April 19, 1945 in Olten ) is a Swiss draftsman and object artist .

Career

Peltier traveled to North Africa , Greece , Asia and America before completing the preliminary course at the Basel School of Applied Arts in 1961 . From 1962 to 1966 he did an apprenticeship as graphic designer with Donald Brun in Basel and attended the Basel School of Applied Arts with Lenz Klotz and Walter Bodmer . In 1967 and 1968 he stayed with Etienne Bucher-Cromières in Paris. From 1968 to 1987 he ran his own design studio. From 1986 to 1997 he was the curator of the Naturmuseum Olten . In 1987 he was co-founder of the Olten studio community. In 1998 and 1999 he intensified his artistic work in a studio in Genoa . In 1999 he was co-author of Fazetten einer Hafenstadt about the Genoa studio location . In 2005 he was awarded the 1st prize in the public art competition of the Rentsch Foundation for cultural impulses and in 2016 the prize for painting of the canton of Solothurn .
