Marcela de Loa

Marcela de Loa , also Marcela Holzapfel-de Loa and Marcela Holzapfel (* around 1965 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean opera and concert singer ( soprano ).

Life

She studied singing at the Facultad de Música of the University of Santiago de Chile and at the University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart . From 1989 to 1993 the soprano was a permanent member of the Stuttgart State Opera , with which she is still closely connected. Subsequently, she performed guest contracts at numerous national and international opera and concert halls such as in Strasbourg, Hanover, Ulm, Berlin, Santiago de Chile, Mannheim, Madrid, Essen, Liège, Moscow, Erfurt, Lisbon, Athens, Rio de Janeiro etc. You sang at the Vienna and Schwetzingen Festival, the Schleswig Holstein Music Festival, the Schwerin Castle Festival and the Heidenheim Opera Festival . Her brilliant roles include: Queen of the Night The Magic Flute , Tosca in Tosca , Gilda Rigoletto , Alcina Alcina , Lucia di Lammermoor, Lucia di Lammermoor , Micaela Carmen , Violetta La traviata , Konstanze Die Entführung aus dem Serail , Musetta La Bohème , Anna Don Giovanni , Gutrune Götterdämmerung , Nedda Pagliacci etc. A highlight of her career was her appearance in January 2000 alongside Plácido Domingo in the role of Sirena in Margarita la Tornera at the Teatro Real in Madrid.

In addition to her stage presence, the artist is also active as a lieder and concert singer. Her repertoire ranges from the baroque to the modern and includes the genres opera, lied and oratorio.

Marcela de Loa has performed with internationally renowned orchestras, including the conductors Theodor Guschlbauer , Alberto Zedda , Garcia Navarro , James Allen Gähres , Roberto Abbado and Stefan Soltesz .

After a marriage she performed under the name Marcela Holzapfel-de Loa.
