Marcelo Méndez , full name Marcelo Fabián Méndez Russo , (born January 10, 1981 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.85 meter tall defensive player Méndez was at the beginning of his career from 2000 to 2004 in the squad of the professional team of Centro Atlético Fénix . In the 2003 season there are 31 games in the Primera División and one goal for him. In 2005 he played five games (no goal) in the Copa Mustang I for the Colombian club Atlético Junior . In the Apertura 2005 and the Clausura 2005 he ran in a total of 19 first division matches (no goal) for Independiente de Avellaneda from Argentina . This was followed by two positions at Club Atlético Peñarol in the Apertura 2006 and the Apertura 2007, which was interrupted by an intervening engagement with the Turkish club Kayserispor in the 2006/07 season. He played 26 games with the Turks and scored two goals in the Süper Lig . In 2008 he again played at least 18 games in the Copa Mustang I for Atlético Junior. In the 2009/10 season a station in Romania at Astra Ploieşti will be performed for him. Eight times he ran there in the league. He didn't score a goal. For the Montevideo Wanderers he was twelve times in the Primera División on the pitch and scored three times in the opposing goal. 2010/11 he played eleven games (no goal) in the Primera B Nacional for Independiente Rivadavia . Then he returned to Uruguay and from August 2011 was again in the ranks of the Wanderers. In 2011/12 he recorded 18 first division games with four goals in the Montevideans and 29 games in the Primera División in 2012/13 with one personal goal. In mid-July 2013, he moved to the Segunda División for Huracán FC , where, after 25 appearances and five hits in the 2013/14 season, he scored 13 times in 24 second division games in the following season. In the 2015/16 season he was on the pitch twice in the league and scored one goal.
