Marcin Zawiła

Marcin Edward Zawiła (born May 6, 1958 in Jelenia Góra ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform ).

Life

Marcin Zawiła studied history at the Catholic University of Lublin and graduated with a master's degree. In 1990 he became the mayor elected by Jelenia Góra. From 1993 to 1997 Marcin Zawiła was a member of the Unia Demokratyczna ( Democratic Union ) in the Sejm . The following legislative period (1997-2001) he was again in the Sejm, this time as a representative of the Unia Wolności ( Freedom Union ). He then worked in the Jelenia Góra City Library. In the early parliamentary elections in 2007 , Zawiła stood in constituency 1 Legnica and was able to win a mandate for the Sejm with 14,133 votes. He works in the commissions for economy, national defense as well as culture and mass media (status 2009). In 2010 he ran again as mayor of Jelenia Góra and was able to prevail against his predecessor Marek Obrebalski. Although a member of the PO , as in 2014, he joined his own election committee “let's change Jelenia Gora”. After his re-election in 2014, he temporarily resigned from the PO in October 2015, but returned to the party in 2016. In the 2018 local elections , he no longer ran as mayor, but was elected to the list of the electoral alliance Koalicja Obywatelska from PO and Nowoczesna in the Sejmik of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship .

Marcin Zawiła is married.
