Marco Innocenti (born August 16, 1978 in Prato ) is an Italian sports shooter .

successes

Marco Innocenti is particularly successful in double trap. In the team competition he was world champion three times : 1999 in Tampere , 2002 in Lahti and 2018 in Changwon . He also won bronze with the team in Cairo in 2001 and in Nicosia in 2003 . He took part in the Olympic Games three times . In 2000 in Sydney he missed the final round with 135 points and finished the competition in eighth place. Four years later he came in Athens in the qualifying round on 127 points, with which he reached 17th place. His third participation took place at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he survived the first round for the first time with 136 points as fifth in the preliminary round. In the semifinals he was the second best shooter with 27 points and moved into the duel for the gold medal against Fehaid Al-Deehani . Innocenti was defeated by Al-Deehani with 24 to 26 hits and thus received the silver medal.

He is married and has one child. His sister Nadia Innocenti is also a marksman in double trap.
