Marco Riemer (born February 24, 1988 in Apolda ) is a German soccer player .

Career

Riemer began his career in his hometown of Apolda at VfB Apolda before moving to FC Carl Zeiss Jena in 2001 . In the 2005/06 season he trained under coach Heiko Weber for the first time in the first team of FC Carl Zeiss Jena, but did not play a competitive game. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season he was called back to the first team by the then coach Henning Bürger . He experienced his premiere for the first team of FC Carl Zeiss Jena in the extension of the round of 16 match of the DFB Cup against Arminia Bielefeld in January 2008. He made his professional debut on the 25th matchday of the second division season 2007/08 when he won 1-0 -The success against SpVgg Greuther Fürth was substituted on at half time. On May 20, 2011, FC Carl Zeiss Jena announced that the expiring contract with Riemer would not be extended. Then Riemer joined the third division promoted Preußen Münster , where he signed a one-year contract. After his contract with SC Preußen Münster expired in summer 2012, he kept fit with his former club, FC Carl Zeiss Jena, which signed him on August 10, 2012. Riemer signed a contract for the Regionalliga Nordost until June 30, 2013, after he left the club. In October 2014, after four months of abstinence, Riemer made a brief comeback at FC Carl Zeiss Jena, before announcing the end of his career as an active footballer on June 18, 2015 due to sports disability . However, just two months later, FC Einheit Rudolstadt announced that Riemer would be strengthening its league team with immediate effect.
